The summer is right around the corner. All the warm weather and sunny skies is the ultimate combination for taking your electric scooter to work. That is if you already have one. If you don't, well there is no need to worry because GOTRAX has your back. We'll go over a few features to look for in your commuter escooter so you get to work on time and aren't stuck in traffic on the way home. It is time to find out which one of our electric scooters is truly the best for commuters. 

Range

One of the first things people look for when trying to find the electric scooter for them is how far it will take them. You can judge this by the displayed range or the size of the battery. The higher the amp hours, often displayed as aH, the longer your battery will last. Your needed range will vary day to day but use your distance to and from work as a good starting point. We recommend an electric scooter that is capable of at least 20 miles per charge. This will give you plenty of battery life to commute, stop at the store, and more once you fully plan your routes around town.

Although, if you're looking for best range then you'll need to check out the GX3, it comes with a range of up to 60 miles per charge. It is by and far our longest range electric scooter to date and is due to arrive later this year. We recommend you use the GX3 for more than just your daily commute, it didn't come with dual suspension and off-road tires for nothing. Take that weekend adventure to the next level and go where other electric scooters can't. 

Foldable

Space can be limited so it is important to save as much as it when you can. This is particularly true for people who live in the denser, urban areas of the world. Thankfully, all of our electric scooter models feature a one touch folding mechanism to significantly reduce the vertical space your ride takes up. It also makes them much easier to carry which comes in handy when you have to take the subway, bus or other forms of public transportation. Our lightest model still weighs above 20lbs so be sure you find a model you will be comfortable carrying. Weight isn't the only thing to consider but also size. Our most compact model is the GXL V2. Granted it is not ideal for commuting but for short trips or longer rides paired with public transportation there is no better option. You'll avoid taking up too much space out in the world or back at your place when you're not riding it. We'd recommend the GXL V2 to first time riders, apartment dwellers, and college students. 

Security

We don't want anyone riding off on your personal electric vehicle so ensure your model has some security features whether that be an integrated tiller lock or a digital code lock. These small but fantastic features help reduce and ideally prevent the theft of your electric scooter. We always recommend bringing an extra bike u-lock or chain lock as an additional level on top of what your escooter has.
