Guest Post: Remember Jones on Tour With the GOTRAX GXL V2 - GOTRAX

Recently GOTRAX® sponsored the commute of singer/songwriter Remember Jones! The singer and band have been using the scooters on their recent tour with other large musical acts such as Blink 182 and Lil' Wayne. Read more below about the band and how life has been with the GOTRAX GXL V2  Electric Scooter.

Meet Remember Jones

Remember Jones is a one-of-a-kind soul/pop singer, storyteller and bandleader with a throwback vibe and authentic energy. Collaboratively supported by a large ensemble of musicians (often featuring female backing vocalists, a horn section, and a six-piece rhythm section), the band has played to countless packed and sold-out ballrooms, clubs and theaters throughout the country. The band is based out of the Asbury Park, New Jersey area and has been around for about 5 years. Remember Jones’ debut album, Ladies and Gentlemen, Remember Jones!, was created after raising close to $19,000 through nearly 300 small donations via IndieGoGo, and created in front of a live studio audience with a 25-piece band. Their subsequent release, Tranquilizer!, was recorded at the Bomb Shelter in Nashville, TN, under the production of Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Langhorne Slim). Remember Jones was named one of Paste Magazine andDaytrotter’s Top 10 R&B/Soul Artists of 2017. Remember Jones has shared stages with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes, Darlene Love, Buster Poindexter, Nigel Hall, The Hip Abduction, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, and more. In the vein of putting their spin on others’ material, Remember Jones released Ain’t That a Kick in the Head?!, a single in celebration of Dean Martin’s 100th birthday, sharing studio time with Dean’s daughter, Deana Martin.

Life With The GOTRAX GXL V2

For those of us located along the beautiful beaches of New Jersey, we sometimes wake up at the crack of dawn and walk out to the beach for sunrise with only the essentials - a beach towel and a cup of coffee. After an hour or so of soaking up the sun and welcoming the day, a nice walk along the beach or boardwalk usually follows. As of late, some of the band has substituting the lazy morning beach lay with a sunrise scooter ride along the boardwalk.

Once the workday begins, it’s nonstop driving to rehearsals, meetings and shows. During the summer of 2019, Remember Jones was on a national tour for almost two and a half months with over 30 shows. Our GoTrax scooters helped us travel and explore many cities along the way. In situations where parking was extremely difficult and the closest spot was miles away, GoTrax came in clutch. We’d simply park a mile or two away and then ride our scooters to the venue. Without the GoTrax scooters, we would have definitely been late to the shows. The money we used to spend on Ubers and Lyfts to explore cities and get to dinner is now back in our wallets with the simplicity and extreme accessibility of our GoTrax scooters. Some of the best times we had during the summer tour of 2019 were playing to thousands of people all across the country, exploring the great cities with our GoTrax, visiting the home of Prince - one of the band’s many inspirations -  in Minneapolis (Paisley Park), sharing the Stone Pony Summer Stage with Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny on July 4th weekend, tasting some great food and meeting some amazing and extraordinary people all over the United States. GoTrax has definitely contributed to the enjoyment of our tour by making traveling and exploring much easier and cheaper. Thank you GoTrax!
