A Throttle Replacement Tip

So, one of the grandkids ran their Flex into a wall and broke the throttle assembly. I ordered a replacement which arrived within a few days. I cut the wires to the broken throttle and taped the connector end of the new throttle to it. I then fed the new wire down into the frame while pulling the old wire down by the battery. It’s a very tight fit and required some heavy pulling at certain points. Once I got the new wire fed through I hooked it up and nothing. The head & tail light come on and the LED battery indicator lights up but the wheel was not receiving power. I could only assume I broke a wire while pulling it so I ordered another new throttle. This time, BEFORE PULLING IT THROUGH THE FRAME, I plugged the connector straight into the other end and the wheel still had no power. The original throttle body was broken and did need to be replaced but two new throttles say there is also something else wrong. My suggestion is, plug your new throttle in and test it before going to all the effort of running it through the frame. It will help you in the troubleshooting process.

Throttle Set

Throttle set was good, but scooter still will not move. Back light keeps flashing red. Battery fully charged.

Good part, design flaw

This is the part, it installs and works as expected. There is a design flaw though, the key must stay in when engaged and sticks straight out toward your body. If you stop hard and bump into it, it breaks. This is my 2nd replacement for this exact reason. The part is fine, it's the design that is faulty.
