If you're experiencing an issue with your GOTRAX electric bike, your bike's display may begin showing an error code. This list of error codes for every GOTRAX e-bike model should help you diagnose and fix your issue.

General eBike Error Codes
These error codes apply to most GOTRAX electric bikes, including:
- The Tundra Fat Tire eBike
- F Series Folding eBikes (F1, F1V2, F2, F2V2, F3, F5)
- CTI Series eBikes
Error Code: 21
The bike is experiencing an issue with its motor. To fix this error, try the following steps:
- Check if the motor connection cable is working properly.
- If the motor connection cable is functioning normally, you'll need to replace the motor.
Error Code: 22
The bike is experiencing an accelerator failure. To fix this error, you will need to do the following:
- Check if the accelerator connection cable is working properly.
- If the cable appears to be functioning normally, you'll need to replace the accelerator.
Error Code: 23 or 24
The bike is experiencing an issue with its motor. To fix this error, try the following steps:
- Check if the motor connection cable is working properly.
- If the motor connection cable is functioning normally, you'll need to replace the motor.
Error Code: 25
The bike is experiencing an issue with its brakes. To fix this error, do the following:
- Check if the brake connection cable is working properly.
- If the cable is functioning normally, replace the brake handle.
Error Code: 30

EBE Series Error Codes
These error codes apply to the GOTRAX EBE2 and EBE4 Electric Bikes.
The EBE1 Electric Bike does not have error codes. If you're experiencing issues with an EBE1 Electric Bike, you will need to file a claim or reach out to GOTRAX customer service.
Error Code: E02
The bike is experiencing an issue with its brakes. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Adjust your brake calipers so that they operate effectively.
Error Code: E03
The bike is experiencing an issue with its power assist sensor. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Change your speed settings or gear.
- If your bike continues to show an error code after attempting to change your speed settings or gear, contact customer service.
Error Code: E06
The bike is experiencing an issue with battery cell voltage. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Replace the battery.
Error Code: E07
The bike is experiencing an issue with its motor. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Replace the motor or motor wheel assembly.
Error Code: E08
The bike is experiencing an issue with its handlebars. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Replace the handlebars.
Error Code: E09
The bike is experiencing an issue with its controller. To fix this error, try following these steps:
- Replace the controller.
Error Code: E10, E11, E12

- Reach out to GOTRAX customer support. This is an internal issue, so the bike will need to be repaired.
Error Code: E13

Transfer and Transit Error Codes
These error codes apply to the GOTRAX Transfer and Transit Electric Bikes.
Error Code: 21

D1RT and Approach Error Codes
These error codes apply to the GOTRAX D1RT and Approach Electric Mountain Bikes.
Because these bikes do not have a digital display, the D1RT and Approach instead use flashing lights on the handlebar console to convey an error. Pay attention to the pattern and location of the flashing lights to diagnose your issue. The lights will flash in a cycle that will repeat itself once the pattern is complete.

These error codes apply to the GOTRAX Shoreline and Aeroluxe Electric Beach Cruisers.
Because these bikes do not have a digital display, the Shoreline and Aeroluxe instead use flashing lights on the handlebar console to convey an error. Pay attention to the pattern and location of the flashing lights to diagnose your issue.
Gear 1 Light Flickers
The bike is experiencing an issue with its current. This is typically caused by a short circuit in the controller or motor. To fix this issue, check whether the three phase lines of the motor are short-circuited.
Gear 2 Light Flickers
The bike is experiencing an issue with the throttle. This is typically caused by the throttle not being properly reset. To fix this issue, check whether the throttle cable is properly connected or if the throttle is turning back normally.
Gear 3 Light Flickers

All Gear Lights Flashing
The bike is experiencing abnormal communication between the display and the controller. This is typically caused by the connection cable coming loose, an incorrect sequence, mismatched protocol, or a damaged interface circuit. To fix this issue, check whether the cables connecting the controller to the display are properly connected.
L1NE Error Codes
These error codes apply to the GOTRAX L1NE Electric Mountain Bike.
Error Code: 01, 02, 03, 05, 08, 49, 64, 65, 66
The bike is experiencing an issue with its controller. To fix this error, try the following steps:
- Check if the controller connection cable is working properly.
- If the cable appears to be functioning normally, you'll need to replace the controller.
Error Code: 04
The bike is experiencing a brake or throttle failure. To fix this error, you will need to do the following:

Error Code: 0x20, 0x25
The bike's motor temperature is high. While this error is occurring, the motor's output will reduce.
Error Code: 0xA1, 0xA6
The bike's motor is overheating. While this error is occurring, the motor's output will reduce.
Error Code: 0x22
The bike's motor is experiencing an issue with its temperature sensor. While this error is occurring, the motor's output will reduce.
Error Code: 0xA7
The bike's motor is experiencing an issue with its temperature sensor. While this error is occurring, the motor's output will reduce.
Error Code: 0x80, 0x01
